Respawn Entertainment is primarily known for games like Titanfall and Apex Legends, but they have really impressed fans of the franchise with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Now, this gaming giant will bring us three new ones Star Wars Games.
This information comes courtesy of an announcement on the official Star Wars website. The announcement confirms that Respawn will bring us three very different ones Star Wars titles.
The first game is perhaps the most obvious: a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order directed by Stig Asmussen. The game was very well received by both gamers and critics alike, and following up on that success was a breeze.
The second game is simply described as a first person shooter set in the Star Wars universe. The game will be directed by Peter Hirschmann and we still don’t know if this game will be more like modern Battlefront games (which emphasized multiplayer over narrative) or older games like Jedi Outcast (which emphasized narrative over multiplayer).
The final game is perhaps the most ambiguous of all. Aside from the fact that it will be directed by Greg Foertsch, all we know is that this will be a Star Wars strategy game. There have been several franchise strategy games before, including Star Wars: Rebellion, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Star Wars: Empire At War, and many more. Only time will tell if the new title looks like any of these or does something entirely new.
Either way, everyone involved seems very confident. Lucasfilm Games Vice President Douglas Reilly expressed enthusiasm to continue “working with Respawn’s superbly talented teams” and believes they will continue to “tell epic events. Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across multiple genres.
Sean Shoptaw, senior vice president of Walt Disney Games, echoed this confidence. “This new collaboration highlights the mutual trust and respect shared between the world-class teams of EA, Respawn and Lucasfilm Games,” he said. Encouraged by the experience and passion within each team, we will create exciting original games for a diverse audience around the world. Star Wars galaxy.”
Perhaps most excitingly, Respawn founder Vince Zampella, the man who oversees all of this, has made it clear that each title will be a work of love. “We are huge fans of Star Wars and we’re thrilled to be working with Lucasfilm Games on new titles we’ve been wanting to make for years. “
What do you think we can expect from these titles? Let us know in the comments!
