Since Bloober Team began working with publisher Konami, there has been intense speculation from fans that the developer will be working on a new Silent Hill game. Now, the Bloober Team has finally responded and they are not directly denying the rumors.

Previously, we were aware of three projects developed by Bloober which were discovered through Bloober documents on the EU Creative Europe website, which shows descriptions of projects that have applied for EU funding. The projects all have code names: H2O (which turned out to be Layers of Fear 2), Black (a first-person project with aliens in the Middle Ages) and Dum Spiro (a horror game set in a WWII ghetto for Polish Jews).

Thanks to a recent IGN interview with Bloober CMO Tomasz Gawlikowski, we now have more information on their current and future projects. In a statement, Gawlikowski said, “Online speculation based on outdated or incomplete information can often lead to strange theories among players” and confirmed that H2O is Layers of Fear 2.

Continuing, he said: “We have also applied for two other projects, called Dum Spiro and Black respectively. After numerous iterations of Dum Spiro, we have concluded that we cannot currently deliver it in a form that is adequately sensitive to the subject and commercially viable at the same time. In short, Dum Spiro is no longer in active development at the moment. “

While it’s interesting, where does Silent Hill come into play?

“Likewise, the initial idea for Black was also shelved, and while we’re still developing a game with this codename, it’s now a very different project than what you might be reading on the web in the last few days,” said Gawlikowski. .

“In Bloober Team we have two active internal projects, one in production and one in pre-production. Both will have a broader reach than The Medium. However, neither is based on themes or premises that have been circulating online in the last few days. “

The pre-production game could be a reference to the Silent Hill speculation. Since it was previously reported that Bloober was working on a currently existing horror IP for Konami for a year, fans are hoping these developers will continue the franchise.

Do you think the Bloober Team will make a Silent Hill game? And if so, will it be as good as previous games? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
