It’s amazing how much there is in Warframe. Not just for a free-to-play game, but for any game. The sky is truly the limit for your skills, stunts, character design, modifications, ship décor, clan dojo, companions and more. Everything is customizable.
History
You play as a Tenno, descendant of a race of lost warriors and the only beings capable of piloting Warframes, basically biomechanical armor, each with their own unique abilities. You don’t know much about this mysterious breed, but the answers come in time as a reward for those who persevere.
Then choose one of the three Warframes and you will learn the basics of how to move and fight. After that, you are introduced into the solar system, whether you are ready or not. In all likelihood, you are not.
The beginning of the story is quite simple: there are four groups fighting across the solar system and you undertake missions to face them. There is a good variety of missions – defense, survival, rescue, assassination and more – there are 20 mission types in total.
It sounds like a lot, but after spending a fair number of hours in the game, you start to feel like you’re playing the same situations over and over. And this is one of the biggest criticisms of Warframe.
While there are only four groups, there are also six unions you can ally with which will give you more missions to take on. Each syndicate has its own unique rewards that you’ll want to hunt down, but you can’t be friends with all of them. Some are allies and others are enemies, so you need to be careful who you decide to help.
