With critical and commercial success of The Batman, players can’t wait to return to Gotham City. And they won’t have to wait long: Gotham Knights will be out on October 25th.

Originally, this title was supposed to be out in late 2021, but it took a little longer in the oven to deliver the best experience to players. Now, the October release date will bring this game to us as a nice pre-Halloween gift.

Or should it be “trick?” The premise of this game is that Batman is dead and his extended family of bats (including Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and Red Hood) must step forward and defend Gotham City from the usual ranks of criminals and supervillains along with new threats like The Court of Owls.

At first glance, the plot of this game might seem like a successor to Arkham Knight. After all, that game ends (holy spoiler, Batman!) With the apparent death of the Hooded Crusader. However, Gotham Knights was developed by WB Games Montreal. Meanwhile, Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady Studios is hard at work making Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. That title was originally slated for release this year, but Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports that it will be postponed until 2023.

So in terms of video games, Gotham Knights is probably as good as it is this year for Batman fans. Are you excited to help Batman’s former comrades defend Gotham City? Let us know in the comments!
