The Nintendo Switch unexpectedly became a favorite platform for indie games, leading to the popular Indie World showcase. And this year’s showcase revealed the best-selling games for Nintendo Switch in 2021.

Here is a breakdown of the games in the order they appear in the video:

  • Cyber shadow
  • Unpacking
  • Tetris Effect: Connected
  • Fight with the stick: the game
  • The curse of the dead gods
  • Ender Gigli
  • Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!
  • Spelucchi 2
  • Street 96
  • Subnautica / Subnautica: Below zero
  • Littlewood
  • Edition for console of the islanders
  • Slime Rancher: Plottable Edition
  • Towards East
  • Axiom Verge 2

The list is a nice mix of familiar and new franchises. For example, it’s not that surprising to see Tetris Effect here, and titles like Spelunky 2 and Subnautica have a small legion of fans.

However, other titles reveal the sheer depth of Nintendo’s bench. Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition carries on the tradition of cute adventure titles we usually associate with Nintendo platforms, while others like Stick Fight: The Game have managed to surprise everyone (especially as this title has virtually zero buzz but is clearly popular with Switch owners).
