The Pokémon Company has announced that the new Pokémon series games, Scarlet and Violet, will arrive on the Switch in late 2022. And we have all the details you need to know about these new games!
The announcement came yesterday via the Pokémon Presents live stream. The end of streaming gave us our first look at new games and information on what players can expect to see.
First of all, we got our first look at the new starter Pokémon. They all come from a new region that hasn’t been named yet. The starters are as follows: Fuecoco (a fire crocodile), Sprigatito (a grass cat) and Quaxly (a water duckling).
While we don’t know the name of the new region (honestly, it looks a lot like Spain), the trailer claims it will have both a great variety of environments and a variety of cities. Interestingly, these cities don’t appear to have borders, so players may be able to seamlessly switch between areas. And you can expect to see Pokémon roam both inside and outside the cities.
Here is the official description of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:
Various cities blend seamlessly into the boundless wilderness. You will be able to see Pokémon from this region in the skies, seas, forests, streets … everywhere! You can experience the true joy of the Pokémon series, fighting wild Pokémon to catch them, now in an open world game that can entertain players of any age.
Are you excited to play Scarlet and Violet and do you think they will be able to overcome the recent Pokémon Legends: Arceus? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
