From terrifying graphics to insane glitches, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition had one of the most troubled launches in video game history. Now, Rockstar is trying to fix things for PC owners of that title by offering them a free game.

Strictly speaking, this is Rockstar’s second attempt at quieting customer feelings. Those who purchased the Definitive Edition on PC received PC versions of the original GTA games as gifts in response to fan protests over those titles that were snatched from the launcher (not to mention the major issues with the launcher itself).

Now, however, they are taking it one step further and offering a free game to PC players who have purchased the Definitive Edition. Until January 5, 2022, these players can get one of the following titles for free on the official Rockstar website here:

  • Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition
  • Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
  • Max Payne 3
  • LA Noire
  • Bullo: scholarship edition

What if I already have these titles or just don’t want any? If so, you can get 55 gold bars in Red Dead Online or a Great White Shark card in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Do you think a free game is enough excuse for the failed Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, or is it too little, too late? Let us know in the comments!
