Amazon today announced the Kindle Scribe, the company’s largest Kindle and for the first time with ink for reading and writing on the go.
The Kindle Scribe features a large 10.2-inch matte touchscreen Paperwhite display. The device includes a standard pen, which magnetically attaches to the side of the device when not in use. You can also choose an optional Premium Pen, which has an eraser on the other end and a shortcut button to switch between pen, highlighter, and more.
Kindle Scribe supports adding handwritten notes to books using the Sticky Notes feature. Sticky Notes are automatically organized by book and synced across all devices as well. The device also includes features for taking notes and diary, with templates like lined paper, blank paper, to-do lists, and more. Notes can be organized by folder, searched and synchronized.
You can also send PDF files to your device to mark or sign and insert sticky notes into Microsoft Word documents. An option to send documents to Kindle Scribe directly via Word will arrive in 2023.
Aside from that, Kindle Scribe is more or less a great Kindle Oasis, with the only differences being the lack of page turning buttons and waterproofing.
Kindle Scribe will be available in 16/32 / 64GB variants and starts at $ 339 with the standard pen.
