Apple’s sales in China have declined and the trend will continue into 2024, according to analysts at Jefferies, cited by Bloomberg. The iPhone 15 series had an unusually slow start, resulting in a 30% year-over-year decline.
In contrast, Huawei has seen impressive growth numbers, thanks to the Mate 60 line which has proven to be a huge success at home.
The launch of the iPhone 15 came just two weeks after the surprise announcement of the Mate 60 Pro. Analysts said patriotism drove people towards Huawei’s flagship with its new Made in China processor, which has yet to be officially detailed by company officials.
Jefferies estimated 35 million shipments for Huawei, which could have been even more if there weren’t some supply constraints.
Apple’s double-digit volume decline is expected to continue into next year. Last week, numerous iPhone deals were spotted on various online shopping portals. However, despite the lower prices, sales volume did not increase.
