Apple just announced the 10th generation iPad, but it’s not a very loyal follow-up to last year’s entry-level iPad. As expected, the new iPad is thinner, with flat sides and a larger 10.9-inch 2360x1640px IPS LCD with 500 nits. It’s basically an iPad Air (2022) without the M1 processor.
Instead, the 10th generation iPad has the A14 Bionic chip with a 6-core CPU, a 4-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
The tablet is available in silver, blue, pink and yellow colors and in 64GB and 256GB finishes, as well as Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + 5G models. This is the fastest Wi-Fi 6.
The 10th generation iPad switches to USB-C and supports the 1st generation Apple Pencil. read the fine print, however, and you’ll see that the pencil uses Lightning, so you’ll need a USB-C to Lightning adapter (which comes in the box). The adapter itself will be available for $ 9.
The 10th generation iPad is equipped with a 12MP f / 2.4 ultrawide front camera that is 122-degree landscape-oriented. It fits multiple people in the frame and supports Smart HDR 3, 1080p video up to 60fps and extended dynamic range up to 30fps. At the opposite end is a 12MP f / 1.8 AF main camera with 4K video.
Apple Pencil support and new horizontal front camera
Apple has made a Magic Keyboard Folio for the new iPad that connects via the Smart Connector and attaches magnetically. Includes a kickstand and trackpad. The keyboard will increase the iPad’s capabilities for $ 249 / € 299 / INR 24,900.
The Apple iPad 10th gen is now available for pre-order and will ship on October 26, in 1 or 2 weeks, depending on the market.
It starts at $ 449 / € 579 / INR 44,900 for a 64GB Wi-Fi-only model. This is a significant price hike over last year’s entry-level model, but luckily Apple keeps that on the shelves as well, priced at $ 329 / € 429 / INR 33,900.
