Asus has started rolling out the stable Android 14 update for the Zenfone 10. This is now rolling out to global models, including those sold in the EU. To get the update, your Zenfone 10 must have software version 33.0220.0220.101.

Once you download and install the 1.3GB update, your software version will be 34.1004.0204.65. As always, the update will be released in batches, based on the serial numbers of the phones, so it may take a few days for it to reach all Zenfone 10 units in circulation.

If you haven’t seen the update notification yet, you can manually check for update availability by going to Settings > System > System Updates. Asus strongly recommends backing up your data before proceeding, as apparently “some third-party apps are not yet compatible with Android 14.”

The changelog mentions optimizations for Bluetooth connectivity (headphone disconnections and noise issues have been fixed), fixes for echo issues in hands-free calls, a new battery usage display method “to view battery usage app in segments”, support for the new “Photos & Videos” permission and the new system photo picker, plus revamped Mobile Management, Contacts, Phone, Emergency Call, File Manager, Calculator, Clock, Gallery, Weather, Recorder of sounds, Settings, Phone cloning, Local backup and Application launcher.

You can also customize the color and brightness of the clock widget on the lock screen, and Asus’ custom power menu now has reboot and shutdown options, as they were apparently missing. Of course, there’s also everything Google has packed into Android 14.
