Last month, Blackmagic Design, a leading manufacturer of cinema cameras, announced an Android app that can record H.264 and H.265 video and integrate with the company’s DaVinci Resolve video editor and cloud services. Version 1.0 only worked on select Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones.
The company is now launching Blackmagic Camera 1.1, which adds more devices to the supported list and adds a host of new features. With v1.1, the app supports the Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro and 6a, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 and S22 series, OnePlus 11 and 12, and Xiaomi 13 and 14 series.

The main new features are HDMI monitoring, pull focus transition controls and improved Blackmagic Cloud organization. You can also now archive clips to external storage. Here is the full changelog:

You can find the Blackmagic Camera app on the Google Play Store. It is completely free to use and DaVinci Resolve is also free (there is also a more powerful version for $295).
