With all the excitement following the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, it’s time to take a look at some early benchmark tests. YouTubers NL Tech has released a detailed video of all three Galaxy S24 series phones comparing themselves in the most popular benchmarking apps: Geekbench 6, AnTuTu, and 3DMark. The S24 and S24+ models are equipped with the Exynos 2400 chip while the S24 Ultra features a slightly overclocked “for Galaxy” version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
It’s important to note that all three phones are running pre-release firmware, so their scores will likely differ from the consumer-ready versions. However, let’s take a good look at the capabilities of Samsung’s new chipset and how it compares to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The Geekbench 6 CPU test shows a slight advantage for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in both single-core and multi-core scores. The difference in the single-core department is negligible while the multi-core score shows a small advantage for the Qualcomm chip. Things took a turn in the Exynos 2400’s favor during the GPU test, where both the S24 and S24+ outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-equipped S24 Ultra.

AnTuTu tests show a win for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside the S24 Ultra, but the gap between the two chips is still quite small.

Next up is the 3D Mark Solar Bay stress test which includes ray tracing. We see a clear win for the S24 and S24+ models powered by Exynos and powered by the AMD RDNA 3-based Xclipse 940 GPU. The Samsung-made chip performed slightly better in thermal management.
3D Mark Scores
The S24 Ultra scores a marginal victory in the Wild Life Extreme test event even though the Exynos devices performed the tests with better stability.
Of course, once we receive the new series in our office, we will run the full series of tests on them, so stay tuned for that too!
