Apple has a total of six iPad models in its current lineup, ranging from the 7.9-inch iPad mini to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but it looks like Cupertino’s tablets will get a big refresh in 2024 according to Mark Bloomberg’s Gurman. The latest report suggests that Apple is trying to streamline the iPad branding by creating a clearer division between the Air and Pro models in terms of features.
Apple’s current iPad range
Apple is expected to launch new 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Air models with the Apple M2 chipset in March 2024. Cupertino is also expected to launch new iPad Pros in 11- and 13-inch sizes with updated, OLED designs ProMotion. display, Apple’s M3 chip and the new optional Magic Keyboard accessory.
While increasing the number of iPads available, Apple would clearly distinguish between the iPad Air and Pro when it comes to their performance capabilities. The base 2022 iPad is expected to be updated “much later,” phasing out the iPad (2021) and its dated design. The iPad mini (2021) is also due for an update, but we don’t have a specific time frame.
