The Honor 90 series made its debut in China at the end of May and the pair is preparing to go global on July 6th. But before that could happen, a third model unexpectedly appeared: the Honor 90 Lite.
This phone is powered by the Dimensity 6020 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That’s twice the memory of the Honor 70 Lite (the 80 series never had a ‘Lite’ model, although there was an ‘SE’). If you like, you can add 5GB of virtual RAM for a total of 13GB.

Another major update is the display: it has grown to 6.7″ and now has FHD+ resolution (up from 6.5″ HD+), plus it now offers a 90Hz refresh rate (up from 60Hz). One hole houses the 16MP selfie camera.
Speaking of cameras, the main module on the back has a 100MP sensor with an f/1.9 lens. It can’t compete with the Honor 90’s 200MP module, but it’s twice the camera resolution of the 70 Lite. In addition, the new model is also equipped with a 5MP ultra wide-angle camera. Video recording is unfortunately limited to 1080p.
The phone has traded some of the battery capacity for faster charging and comes with a 4,500mAh power cell that can reach 55% charge in half an hour if you have a compatible 35W Honor SuperCharger. The new model is lighter and much thinner, measuring 179g and 7.48mm.
The USB-C (2.0) port is the only wired connection on board and can also be used for headphones (with an adapter). The phone has Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certifications. There is a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
The Honor 90 Lite is already available in several European countries. In the UK it has an RRP of £300, but is currently £250, and you can pick up a free Honor Band 7 or free Honor Earbuds X5 (worth £50 and £40, respectively). In France the price is €300 and comes with a €50 coupon and free Earbuds X5. In Germany, the phone costs €300 again but the coupon is only 5% off (you’ll still get the free earphones).
Honor 90 Lite is available in Cyan Lake, Titanium Silver and Midnight Black
