Honor proudly announced today that it is partnering with game developer Gameloft to bring a special version of Asphalt 9: Legends to the Porsche Design Magic V2 RSR. It will run at 120fps and is “better adapted to the large screens of foldable smartphones”, of which the Magic V2 RSR is one.
The partnership will offer “an unprecedented experience, unlike anything seen before, advancing the foldable ecosystem through mutual innovation,” Honor boldly states in its official press release on the topic. Smooth visuals and ultra-fast response times are delivered on the large foldable screen by reconstructing the game’s rendering process, using shader replacement technology, reinventing physical textures with GPU-based edge reconstruction technology, and integrating Graphic rendering of foldable devices with artificial intelligence”.
Fei Fang, President of Honor Product Line, said:
Honor continues to establish itself as a key player in the foldable ecosystem through its ongoing commitment to evolving and maintaining its competitive advantage through openness and collaboration. Our latest collaboration with Gameloft to optimize gameplay on the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR is a testament to our commitment to creating the best foldable user experience for Honor device users. By pursuing collaborations that promote hardware and software integration for foldable devices, Honor aims to create a mutually beneficial ecosystem that offers consumers the most cutting-edge technology.
Henry Pan, Vice President of Global Business Development OEM at Gameloft, said:
Past precedents have shown that pursuing a thin and light design for foldable smartphones often led to sacrificing their technological performance and graphics capability, creating a gap in the market to create more advanced gaming experiences. Our collaboration with Honor combines our expertise in mobile game development with Honor’s expertise in seamless integration of software and hardware in foldable devices to deliver industry-leading immersion with Asphalt 9: Legends for gamers everywhere the world.
