Honor and luxury design company Porsche Design recently announced an agreement to collaborate on upcoming high-end smartphone projects. Not much has been revealed about these phones, except that the first models are expected to arrive in January 2024.
Honor Magic 6Porsche Design
According to a new leak, the first Porsche Design models will likely be the Magic6 Pro and Magic6 Porsche Design. The leak comes from a Weibo user and features two different phone models. The Magic6 Porsche Design, as depicted in the leaked image, has a horizontal two-note design and what appears to be a leather finish. Both the Honor and Porsche Design logos are clearly visible on the back.
Then we have the Magic6 Pro, which still looks a bit like last year’s Magic5 Pro. The circular camera assembly appears to be a little narrower this year and is notably complete with an accelerometer-inspired design on the outer diameter of the island. It’s a bit tacky in our opinion, but we can see an audience for it.
Honor Magic 6 Pro
As far as we currently know there will be three “main” Honor6 models: Honor6 vanilla, Honor6 Pro and Honor6 Ultimate. It is yet to be seen whether each of these devices will also have a separate Porsche Design Edition. Mind you, there’s already a Magic6 Lite, which is a rebadged Honot X9b and probably won’t get the Porsche Design treatment.
We have some early specs for some of the Magic6 devices. The Pro model is expected to have a QHD OLED display and a pill-shaped cutout for a dual selfie camera. The latter will likely be incorporated into Smart Island’s notification features. There’s also a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset on the spec sheet and potentially a dedicated graphics and security chip.
The regular Magic6 is expected to feature an interesting 160MP periscope zoom camera with variable aperture on its OV50H or OV50K main camera. 66W wired charging is also on the cards.
