Huawei held a product launch event in China today where it unveiled a new HarmonyOS tablet and its Windows laptop. The MatePad Pro 11 2024 is the same device that recently appeared on Geekbench with an updated Kirin 9000 chipset while the MateBook D16 2024 is configurable with a 13th generation Intel Core i9 processor.

Huawei’s latest MatePad Pro tablet offers an 11-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,600 x 2,560 px, 16:10 aspect ratio, and peak brightness of 600 nits. The Slate features an aluminum chassis and six speakers and is just 5.9mm thick.

The MatePad Pro 11 also debuts Huawei’s Kirin 9000s chipset with a 1+3+4 CPU configuration. The performance core is clocked at 2.49 GHz and is joined by 3 cores at 2.15 GHz and 4 efficiency cores at 1.53 GHz.

The recent Geekbench listing revealed synthetic performance in line with Qualcomm’s regular Kirin 9000 and Snapdragon 865. The tablet is supported by 12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of storage space and is also the first MatePad to support two-way Beidou satellite messaging.
On the back we find a 13 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide lens. You also get a 16MP front camera housed inside a punch-hole. The software side is covered by HarmonyOS 4 while the 8,300 mAh battery brings support for 66W charging. You also get Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and support for the third-generation Huawei M-Pencil.
MatePad Pro 11 2024 is available in gray, blue, white and black colors. The price starts at CNY 4,199 ($592) for the 12/256 GB version while the 12/512 GB version is priced at CNY 4,699 ($663).
MateBook D16 2024
The MateBook Pro D16 2024 offers a 16-inch IPS LCD with 1920x1200px resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio and peak brightness of up to 300 nits. There’s a 1080p webcam built into the top bezel and a fingerprint scanner built into the power button. Huawei features a full-size keyboard with numeric keypad, five-point touchpad, dual speakers, and dual microphones.
The base model comes with a 13th generation Intel Core i5 processor and Intel UHD graphics while the high-end models get i7 and i9 processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics. All models come with 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 1TB M.2 SSD of the 2280 variety.
I/O includes 1 USB 3.2 Gen1 (Type A), 1 USB 2.0 (Type A), 1 USB 3.2 Gen1 (Type C) with support for DisplayPort 1.2, 1 HDMI, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. The software side is covered by Windows 11 Home Edition and you also get Wi-Fi 6e and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. There’s a 70Wh battery with 65W charging via USB-C.
The MateBook D16 2024 is available in space gray and silver. The Core i5 base model is priced at CNY 4,999 ($705), the Core i7 version is CNY 5,999 ($847) while the Core i9 model comes in at CNY 6,499 ($917).
