Introduction, specifications, unboxing
Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is the flagship of the troubled Chinese manufacturer, protagonist of the reinvented Photography series. It comes with the mysterious next-generation Kirin 9010 chipset and some of the best technologies in the market.
The name of the P series may have changed to Pura, but the purpose remains the same: to offer the best photography experience on the go. The triple camera on the back of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is a true masterpiece, so it’s natural to start there.
There is a 50MP 1″ Sony IMX989 sensor with sensor-shift stabilization and a high-end lens with variable aperture, followed by a 40MP ultrawide camera with autofocus and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3 optical zoom .5x and hybrid zoom up to 10x. The 13 MP selfie camera with ultra-wide angle lens and autofocus is also promising.
The Huawei Pura 70 is certainly beautiful to look at. It has a curved design with a faux leather back, a futuristic camera case design, and great colors. Furthermore, it is a solid smartphone with a Kunlun Crystal Armor glass above the screen and an aluminum frame. It also has an IP68 protection rating.
Pura 70 Ultra packs a large 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen with 1260p resolution, 1B colors and 120Hz refresh rate. Underneath is the new Kirin 9010 chipset, a small piece of hardware that will inevitably spark a new portion of investigations, especially now that the Pura 70 series has been launched in Europe and Asia.
Finally, Pura 70 Ultra is powered by a 5,200 mAh battery capable of 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, as well as 20W reverse wireless charging.

The Pura 70 Ultra has two unique features compared to the rest of the Pura 70 phones: the 1″ sensor for the main camera, a high-resolution tele and UW cameras, as well as the promising Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass for the screen.
There are two potential big drawbacks right off the bat: the mid-range chipset (at a flagship price) and the lack of Google Mobile Services. The latter can be solved to some extent with third-party software solutions, but it’s still a turn-off for some users.
Unboxing of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra
Huawei has enclosed the Pura 70 Ultra in a large, thick, luxurious-looking box. The package includes the phone itself, a premium case with matching color but a different P-style texture, a 100W charger, and a USB-DC cable.
See how this charger has both USB-C and USB-A ports? While useful, it’s not a dual charger – you can only use one port at a time.
