Huawei has added 13th generation Intel processors to the MateBook X Pro and MateBook 16S lineup and added 2023 to their names. Otherwise, there are very few hardware differences between the two and their 2022 counterparts.
Indeed, in the case of the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2023, there are no other differences apart from the new processor. The laptop ranges from Intel’s 12th generation P-series chips to 13th generation Raptor Lake with a choice between the Core i5-1340P and the more popular i7-1360P. The processor comes with the same 28W thermal wrap and the same 12-core, 16-thread configuration.
These are split between 4 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The RAM is 16GB or 32GB, while the graphics are taken care of by the Intel Iris Xe GPU.
The display is still the same lovely, 3:2 aspect 14.2-inch LTPS 90Hz touchscreen with a resolution of 3120×2080 px and a peak brightness of 500 nits.
There is a 60Wh battery inside the MateBook X Pro 2023 and four 4 USB-C ports on the sides: two Thunderbolt 4 on the left and two USB-C on the right.
Huawei Mate Book X Pro 2023
The MateBook X Pro 2023 weighs just 1.26 kg and is clad in a “skin-soothing” metal body. You’ll be able to snag it in three colors: space gray and ink blue and white, which have a fine-grained coating. The MateBook X Pro 2023 goes on sale on 1 June starting at €2,199/£1,799.
Moving on to the 2023 MateBook 16S. It’s a 1.99kg 16-inch with a 2520×1680 3:2 aspect touchscreen display. Huawei claims that the display reaches 400 nits, which is 100 more than the previous generation and would be a big improvement (300 nits is 2017).
Processor choice is all 13th generation and all H-series (45W): i9-13900H, i7-13700H and i5-13500H.
Huawei Mate Book 16S 2023
