introduction
Infinix has been gaining traction outside its traditional markets over the past couple of years, building on several excellent mid-range offerings that offer excellent value for money. Together with sister companies Tecno and Itel, Chinese manufacturer Transsion Holding has ventured out of its strongholds in Africa and South Asia and expanded its global reach.
While entry-level phones are Infinix’s forte, the company’s Zero lineup also includes some higher-range models and has been the driving force behind recent growth. This is where we find the Zero 30 5G that we have on test today.

It’s an interesting device, looking much more premium than its price suggests with that 144Hz curved AMOLED display. The MediaTek Dimensity 8020 inside the Zero 30 5G isn’t exactly a true flagship chipset, but it’s not it is not even negligible. It could be argued that the Zero 30 is the more powerful cameraphone alternative to the recently reviewed GT 10 Pro, which has become a real success story on the market.
The Zero 30 5G features a large 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging, a 108MP OIS-enabled main camera, and 50MP selfies with 4K video capability – the latter being the focal point of the entire campaign of marketing. Stereo speakers, FM radio receiver and NFC complete the main features.
As usual, though, we don’t take anything for granted and we have to put the Infinix Zero 30 5G through its paces before making any verdict. That Dimensity 8020, for example, isn’t a chip we have extensive experience with, even though it’s technically a rebranded Dimensity 1100. But before all that, however, here’s an unboxing.
Unpacking
The Infinix Zero 30 5G ships in a solid two-piece cardboard box. It’s very sturdy and includes a plastic holder for the phone itself to keep it safe during shipping.
Infinix is quite generous with the included accessories. You get a 68W Infinix charger along with a USB Type-A to Type-C cable. This is a non-standard cable with an extra pin inside, so you need to keep track of it along with the charger if you want to maximize your charging potential phone speed. There is also a nice transparent TPU case in the package.
