The iPhone 16 series is on track for a September launch, and we’ve seen a fair amount of leaks showing that we’re in for a redesign of the base iPhone 16. The latest confirmation of that redesigned back comes from Sonny Dickson who shared an image of the iPhone 16 in five colors, once again confirming the new vertical camera alignment.

iPhone 16 leaked in new image showing saturated colors

The iPhone 16 is shown in white, black, blue, green, and pink, which appear to be much more saturated than the muted colors of last year’s iPhone 15. The back appears to have a glossy finish, and we can also spot the power button and the rumored new Capture button. The latter will be a new mechanical button with a capacitive surface to allow for swipe gestures for zooming. It appears to be placed in the same spot as the mmWave antenna on iPhones sold in the US.

All iPhone 16 series devices (vanilla and Pro) are also rumored to feature the Action button, which will do away with the mute switch altogether. The vanilla iPhone 16 is expected to launch with a 6.1-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and still limited to 60Hz. The display could feature thinner bezels, which would be a welcome addition.

All four devices in the iPhone 16 series are expected to launch with Apple’s A18 chipset, with the Pro models getting the A18 Pro version while the vanilla model gets the base A18 chip. Apple is also expected to offer a 3,561mAh battery inside the iPhone 16, which is 6% larger than the iPhone 15’s cell.
