Apple will launch the iPhone 16 family in September, and today a new leak from China may give us the exact battery capacities for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The former is said to feature a 3,577mAh cell, which is said to be 9% larger than the 3,274mAh cell in the iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s battery is pegged at 4,676mAh, up more than 5% from the 4,441mAh cell in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
These aren’t huge increases, of course, but it’s still nice to see Apple consistently improving in this regard. Even these small increases in physical capacity, when combined with possible improvements in chipset and display panel efficiency, could lead to greater longevity for future iPhone models.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are both rumored to come with support for 40W wired charging and 20W MagSafe wireless charging. That would be an increase over the 27W and 15W of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, respectively, and could be a nice quality-of-life improvement for owners of the upcoming devices as well.
