Google’s next Pixel 9a was leaked yesterday in CAD-based renders, and today we have a new leak that gives us more details about it.
It will supposedly be offered in four colors, which Google will call Porcelain, Obsidian, Peony, and Iris. To translate into English, we are talking about white, black, pink and purple-blue respectively.
This means no more Aloe and Bay, the colors offered on the Pixel 8a. The Pixel 9a will be 154mm tall and 73mm wide, making it approximately 1.9mm taller and 0.3mm wider than its predecessor. On the other hand, the new phone will be thinner: 8.5 mm compared to the 8.9 mm of the 8a.
In real life use you are obviously unlikely to notice these small differences unless you have both devices next to each other and go looking for them.
The Pixel 9a is currently expected to be unveiled in May at Google’s I/O developer conference, although the company recently changed its hardware announcement and release schedule (the Pixel 9 family was made official two months before usual), we wouldn’t do it. you’ll be surprised if it actually lands first. There are now rumors that Android 16 will also arrive early.
