Motorola today announced that it has enabled Jio’s 5G on its ten eligible devices sold in the Asian country. These will operate on up to 13 5G bands on the Jio True 5G network.
Motorola 5G users will be able to use Jio’s autonomous 5G network, which is independent of LTE; they will have “the broadest and best combination of 5G spectrum across the 700MHz, 3,500MHz and 26GHz bands” and will have flawless connectivity through technologies such as 3CA (3 Carrier Aggregation) and 4X4 MIMO.
All Jio users with Motorola smartphones will be able to use 5G internet whenever there is Jio True 5G network. A joint press release said that all phones support all of India’s 5G bands, regardless of price range.
Here is the list of Motorola 5G devices that will work on the Jio True 5G network:
Jio True 5G is available in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Varanasi, Chennai, Bangalore and more. The full list consists of more than 60 cities, districts and regions, and the carrier has pledged that by December 2023 it will deliver 5G “to every city, every taluka, every tehsil” of India.
There is no information on when Motorola devices will operate on other carriers’ 5G networks.
