If you’ve been hearing rumors lately, you probably know that one of the major innovations expected to arrive with the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been a new main camera, possibly based on the Sony IMX903 sensor, 1″. The latest industry tip, however , claims that the iPhone 15 will keep the same Quad-Bayer IMX803, 48MP 1/1.28″, camera already present on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

That’s a bit of a disappointment, as is the rumor that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also carry forward the M12 OLED panel technology it’s using in the current generation. Don’t get us wrong, it’s an amazing panel, according to our tests, but apparently users shouldn’t expect crazy new brightness levels or anything like that.
That said, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s display may not be exactly the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s as current reports state the new phone will be slightly shorter at 159.8mm, up from 160.7mm. mm on the iPhone 14 Pro Max and slightly narrower at 76.7mm, instead of 77.6mm.

As for the expected new additions to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, there’s the much-discussed periscope telephoto camera, which will presumably be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and not the regular Pro, and will offer 6x optical magnification.
We also expect the iPhone 15 family, including the Pro Max, to feature a USB Type-C port. A new Apple A17 Bionic made in 3nm mode is also expected, as is 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
