OnePlus is expected to announce a new Ace smartphone and rumors suggest it would be called the OnePlus Ace 2 Dimensity 9000. Leaked images have revealed that the phone won’t be visually similar to the Ace 2, and we now have confirmation on the name, which is a lot more easy to remember: OnePlus Ace 2V.
OnePlus China president Louis Li posted an image on his Weibo account, revealing that the new phone will have an alert slider in the upper right corner, far above the power key that sits in the center, while the volume is on the left side.
The post doesn’t explicitly confirm that the Ace 2V will have a Dimension 9000 chipset, while Li did say it will have a “flagship experience,” which a 4nm SoC could certainly offer its users. The sensor for the main camera on the back is expected to be a 64MP OmniVision sensor instead of the 50MP Sony IMX890, while fast charging is likely to take a hit and be limited to 80W.
The phone will initially launch in China, but given its different specs and looks compared to the Ace 2, we could see it arrive under the Nord sub-brand in the global market. We haven’t yet heard of an official launch date for the Ace 2V, and given the talk of this device, its launch should be just around the corner.
