The Pixel 8a is powered by a 4,492 mAh battery, a slightly lower capacity than the 4,575 mAh cell in the Pixel 8. It also has a smaller display with a 6.1-inch diagonal instead of 6.2”.

And since the two phones use an identical chipset, it’s no surprise that the Pixel 8a achieved a similar active usage score as the original Pixel 8: 11 hours and 25 minutes. It offers 23 hours of calling, 10+ hours of web browsing, 13+ hours of video streaming, and 7+ hours of gaming. Not bad for a compact phone.

However, there are several other similarly sized competitors that post better active usage scores – at least 13 hours or more.

Stay tuned for the full review where we will delve into the other aspects of the phone.
