Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip5 has been leaking like crazy lately, ahead of its official unveiling, scheduled for the last week of July at a special event in Korea.

Today we get an essential piece of the puzzle: the price. This information comes from Greece, and if the number resolves, it represents a significant leap from the one Flip4 launched last year. The new model will be priced at €1,299 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

For comparison, the 8/128GB version of the Galaxy Z Flip4 launched at €1,099 in the Eurozone, so that’s an almost 20% price hike we’re talking about here. Of course, prices can vary slightly within the Eurozone due to different VAT levels, but don’t expect these variations to amount to more than €30-40.

So either way, the Flip5 will be more expensive than its predecessor, if this information is correct. The increase may be more readily accepted by consumers given that the upcoming model will sport a massive external screen that makes the Flip4 look like a joke in comparison. Eventually there won’t even be any hinge gaps, something competitors figured out before Samsung, hilariously enough.

Either way, take all of this with a pinch of salt, as it’s just an unconfirmed rumor for now. Surely in the coming weeks there will be more losses related to prices and we will see if they confirm this price or not.
