Realme today presented the Realme 12 Pro series, consisting of Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. We received the Pro+ model in the Submarine Blue color at the office for review, but before proceeding with the tests, let’s do a quick unboxing of the smartphone.
The Realme 12 Pro+ comes in a yellow retail box, which includes a protective case, a charging cable, a 67W power adapter, and a SIM ejector tool.
The Realme 12 Pro+ packs a 6.7-inch 120Hz FullHD+ curved AMOLED display with a built-in fingerprint reader, which we found to be fast and accurate in our short time with the phone. The display also has a centered selfie hole 32 MP camera (IMX615).
Turn the phone over and you see a similar design to the Realme 11 Pro+ as it features the 3D Jubilee bracelet spanning the length of the back cover, interrupted by the centrally aligned camera island. The back panel of the Realme 12 Pro+ uses vegan leather, “made with high-end dirt-resistant silicone materials” to provide a luxurious feel. The panel is really pleasant to the touch and prevents fingerprint smudges while providing a good grip.
While the design of the Realme 12 Pro+ is similar to the Realme 11 Pro+, it now sports a larger circular camera island compared to its predecessor. It houses LED flash and three cameras: 50MP primary (IMX890, OIS), 64MP periscope telephoto (OV64B, OIS), and 8MP ultrawide. The telephoto lens features 3x optical zoom and 6x internal sensor zoom.
A gold fluted bezel surrounds the camera island and has a glossy Sunburst dial, creating a nice visual effect when light hits it from different angles. These make the Submarine Blue version of the Realme 12 Pro+ look premium.
Under the hood, the Realme 12 Pro+ has the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The smartphone runs Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging support.
The rest of the Realme 12 Pro+ highlights include IP65 rating, 5G connectivity, dual high-resolution speakers, and Dolby Atmos. We’ve started our review process, so stick around to find out how the Realme 12 Pro+ performed.
