Samsung began public beta testing last month of the next version of its Android skin, One UI 6, based on Android 14. Unsurprisingly, the rollout began with the Galaxy S23 family, the device maker’s latest flagship lineup Korean.

After that you might have expected that the Galaxy S22 models would be next in line, but no: they were only added to the beta program today. And so far only in Korea, but other regions will no doubt follow soon.

Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra finally get the One UI 6 beta based on Android 14

It’s a strange decision by Samsung to delay the One UI 6 beta release for last year’s flagships for so long, especially given that mid-range devices like the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 were both added to the program earlier .

It will be interesting to see if this release timing is repeated for the final, stable builds once these start rolling out. In the meantime, good news if you own a Galaxy S22, S22+, or S22 Ultra: You’ll soon be able to participate in the One UI 6 beta program, if you can’t already.
