Samsung announced its all-new Galaxy S23 series last week, and despite the price hike, the company secured around 140,000 pre-orders in its first 24 hours in India. This is around double the Galaxy S22 pre-orders from last year and shows strong demand for premium devices in the country and perhaps Samsung’s pre-order offers and goodies have tipped the scales in its favour.
Samsung’s spokesperson did not disclose the distribution of the pre-order. The average selling price of a Galaxy S23 member is around INR 99,000 ($1,200), so that would add up to $169 million in revenue.
Samsung recently opened a large manufacturing facility in India — the country’s largest, actually — and the Galaxy S23 series sold in the country are assembled there.
