The next Samsung Galaxy Watch7 will apparently come in no fewer than three versions, according to a new rumor. The wearables could launch alongside the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 at Samsung’s rumored Unpacked event in early to mid-July.
The Watch7 will presumably come in Classic and Pro versions along with an unnamed third option. It could be the rectangular-shaped Galaxy Watch we told you about recently.
If this rumor is successful, it would mark a first: the first time Samsung has launched three different versions of its latest smartwatch. So far in recent years we have had a vanilla model alongside a Classic or a Pro.
The new wearables are said to feature Samsung’s Exynos W940 SoC, which is supposedly 50% more power efficient than the Galaxy Watch6 series’ Exynos W930. This obviously won’t result in a 50% increase in battery life, but the improvement should still be quite good. The W940 may be the first Samsung chip to use the 3nm manufacturing process, and that in itself could explain the increased efficiency. If this is accurate, we should also expect a 30% performance increase.
