Sony will present the Xperia 1 Mk V in ten days. The device was teased more than two months ago with a similar design to its predecessors, but now we have a confirmation of the look. The new flagship appeared on a billboard in Hong Kong, revealing the vertical three-camera design with a more significant oval island and more prominent lenses.

A photo of the billboard has appeared on Reddit, revealing that the new Xperia 1 will be advertised as “one for all the lights” and will have “the next generation dual sensor low-noise camera”.

According to previous reports, Sony is implementing an IMX 989 sensor for the main cam, but may opt for the IMX858 for the main shooter because it is the only platform that supports the new LN2 low noise mode in combination with MCSS (Multi- Camera Synchronization System).

The way LN2 works is that it implements a new architecture of CMOS sensor technology. Instead of applying photodiodes and pixel transistors on the same substrate and in the same plane, they are now stacked on top of each other, thus expanding the dynamic range, allowing in more light and reducing noise without impacting the phone’s overall performance.

Sony doesn’t have a habit of making fun of specs like other manufacturers; this means that we will learn all about the camera features of the Xperia 1 V on May 11 at the launch.
