Like last year’s models, the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ come with stereo speakers – well, a bottom speaker plus the earpiece. While Samsung hasn’t said much about it, the 2024 models bring significantly improved speakers. Here, listen.
We record our tests in a controlled acoustic environment, playing a selection of different music genres for you to listen to. There is also a sweep of the entire frequency range, so you can draw the frequency response curves you see below.

Samsung has improved the mids of the S24 series at the expense of some bass, but the latter mostly lands in the part of the range that the human ear can’t perceive. Additionally, the speakers are noticeably louder than their predecessors (with a smaller difference between the Vanilla and Plus models this year).
If you wear a pair of headphones, you will feel that the improvement is greater than it might seem at first glance. There is also better stereo separation.
Note that you can add more phones to the comparison – we have a growing list, so there’s a good chance you can compare the sound of your current phone to that of the new Galaxy S24 series.

As you can see, we are hard at work completing the full review. While you wait, you can check out our post on the Galaxy S24 battery life test (note: it’s the Exynos variant).
