Qualcomm had a busy day today: it first unveiled its latest generation chipset family for wearables, consisting of Snapdragon W5 and W5 + SoCs a few hours ago.
And now, the company is also revealing the date for its next Snapdragon Summit. This annual event always takes place in Hawaii and will be the same this year. However, it is generally held in December, but in 2022 the Summit will be a three-day event scheduled for November 15-17.
At the Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm is always unveiling its latest and greatest mobile chipset, so this year we will be treated to the first official sighting of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Of course, more chips could come out along with it too, so it’s going to be one. fun mid November.
While Qualcomm didn’t specifically mention why it moved the Snapdragon Summit to November for 2022, it likely has something to do with the Chinese smartphone market, which has a huge jump in sales for the Chinese New Year. So many Chinese companies want to be able to get their new top-of-the-line devices out before that festival – and an early announcement of the chip that powers them will definitely help with lead times.
