The brand new Google Pixel 7 Pro is official after months of leaks, rumors and YouTubers PBK Reviews is here to take a closer look at its interior in its latest teardown video.
The process begins by removing the SIM slot and applying heat near the sides of the display to melt the adhesive. After lifting the screen we come to the metal bracket that covers the internal components. Once the screen is disconnected and the lid removed, we finally see the 5,000 mAh battery held in place by abundant adhesive and we also see two well-positioned tabs.
The main board is covered with a large sheet of graphite film to aid in cooling. Removing some connectors and screws reveals the camera assembly that houses the 50MP main cam, 12MP ultrawide sensor, and the upgraded 48MP telephoto module with 5x optical zoom. A few steps later and let’s take a look at the new 11MP selfie camera with autofocus.
The USB-C charging port appears to be soldered to the main board, which would make repairs rather difficult. The rear glass is glued to the frame, another difficult component to repair. The Pixel 7 Pro achieves a repairability score of 5.5 / 10 which is almost average.
