A week before the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra become official at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event in San Jose, California, more details arrive. The last entry concerns something small but perhaps of great impact, namely the touch responsiveness of the screen.

According to prolific leaker Ice Universe, the screens of all three devices will get a 10% improvement in touch responsiveness. This should result in a smoother and faster touch response, which is how long it takes for the device to react to your touch.

10% isn’t much, but it’s obviously more than nothing, and One UI can still make some improvements in the overall perceived smoothness of operation. This has the potential to help with that, so it definitely looks interesting. Call us cautiously optimistic and reasonably enthusiastic.

This improvement could also make using the S Pen stylus a better experience on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We’ve also heard in the past that the S24 family will have the brightest Super AMOLED screens to date, with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

For comparison, the Galaxy S23 series’ peak brightness is 1,750 nits, and those are also perfectly readable at 100% even when the sun hits them directly. Therefore, this year the wow factor (when used in very bright and very sunny conditions) will be increased.
