Xiaomi may launch its flagship 14 Ultra with a new camera setup behind a familiar design, a report revealed last week. Today, another leaker suggested that the bright f/1.63 aperture could be the real deal, and the phone will see the light of day at the end of February.
The calendar is in line with the MWC 2024 in Barcelona, where we could see the Xiaomi 14 Ultra unveiled alongside the international launch of the 14 and 14 Pro. The company has already confirmed that it will participate in the conference, where it will present its new domestic devices , and we also hope to see the Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicle.
The 14 Ultra’s variable aperture has been around for a while. It’s a two-stop lens that alternates between f/1.6 and f/4.0, just like the 14 and 14 Pro and their f/1.4-4.0 solution. The phone reportedly comes with a LYT-900 sensor which is a 1” type platform from Sony.
Xiaomi has also certified a camera kit for the 14 Ultra, similar to its predecessor. However, this version could also act as an external battery, significantly increasing battery life. We’ll have to wait for the official announcement next month to confirm all the details.
