Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 13 series two months ago and the vanilla Note 13 came with a Dimensity 6080 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery and a 108MP main camera.
Today the company announced a Redmi Note 13R, which is the same phone on the inside. On the outside there is a yellow color option and a larger camera island that now extends from one end to the other.
The Note 13R has only one memory combination: 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The screen is the same 6.67-inch OLED that Xiaomi has been using for its phones for the past three years. The camera on the back is in fact the same 108 MP sensor from Samsung, while the selfie shooter inside the hole has a 16 MP sensor.
Xiaomi has also maintained the 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging support. The phone may be pretty much the same, hardware-wise, but due to the extra plastic on the back for the camera island, the device has become slightly heavier and thicker.

The Redmi Note 13R is currently on sale in China for CNY 1,999 ($280). We don’t know who this phone is intended for, since the regular Note 13 with 12/256 GB of storage is much cheaper: CNY 1,599 ($222), discounted from CNY 1,699 ($237).
