It’s fair to say that Elden Ring is the most anticipated game of 2022. And now, this FromSoftware title has finally gone gold.

This means that the master version (or “gold version”) of the game has been finalized and is ready to be translated into digital and physical copies. While updates and patches are pretty much inevitable, a game going gold means the developer is confident the game is now ready for release.

We know this news courtesy of Twitter user @EldenRingUpdate who pointed to a specific video from the Taipei Game Show confirming Elden Ring’s golden status.

In short, Elden Ring is well on its way to making its release date for both console and PC on February 25th. Unlike many other highly anticipated titles, it doesn’t look like Elden Ring will experience any more annoying last-minute delays. It was originally supposed to be released this month before a delay was announced last year.

However, FromSoftware is already working on a day one patch. According to Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao at the Taipei Game Show 2022, shot last December, “The master version has already been released and right now the team is working on a patch on the first day to make sure everything in the game is like this. “

“That’s right” is pretty much a requirement at this point. Whereas this game is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki (director of Dark Souls III and Bloodborne) and written in part by George RR Martin (of game of Thrones fame), fans are practically drooling to see what these titanic talents have come up with.
