Outriders People Can Fly developer has announced that it will permanently brand cheaters and punish them in a number of innovative ways.
Speaking on the Outriders Steam blog, the studio explained that it will put a number of systems in place to deter potential cheaters. In addition to branding their HUD with a permanent watermark, players using illicit hacks and cheats will not be able to create matches with legitimate players. However, users will be able to play singleplayer games without any penalty.
People Can Fly will periodically check accounts at regular intervals, punishing those it detects that they are cheating. Anyone who was punished in the demo for this type of behavior will have to restart their progress and eliminate all characters to avoid being reported.
The developer has outlined exactly what he considers cheaters, which can be seen below:
- Intentionally running the game on PC without Easy Anti Cheat (EAC)
- Editing game files to improve a character: levels, skills, inventory, etc.
- External modification of game time to reduce time-dependent features such as vendors and challenges
- Using a trainer or similar program to gain in-game benefits
- Use of gameplay altering programs such as goalbot or wallhack
Outriders will launch on April 1st for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
